1930s Dress and Bolero - 2 Extra Small
The only word for this outfit is “stunning”. The bolero is made of a series of folds that extend all the way down from the shoulders to the base. The sleeve has a reverse pleat on the outside, giving the shoulder a poofiness to it. There is a clasp under the bow at the neckline for closure.
The bust of the dress mimics the same folded pattern and is gathered in the middle with three vertical folds. The nearly sheer dress is so flowy and elegant, with two straps at the top for support. The back closes with five hook and eyes at the top, and two snaps at the bottom. There are pin holes here and there (all pictured) and a little discoloration at on the right side of the waist. The dress was too small to fit on my dress form, and was pinned in place through the hook and eye clasps - fabric was not punctured for pictured. Bolero was too small to fit on the form as well. There are no labels or maker’s marks.
Please note - this dress is around 90 years old, and must be handled with care.
